• Isopropyl Alcohol: Found in hair products and lotions, it dries out the skin, accelerates aging, and weakens its barrier.
• Mineral Oil: Creates a plastic-like barrier on the skin, promoting premature aging.
• Parabens: Used as preservatives, parabens mimic estrogen in the body and have been linked to hormone disruption and breast cancer.
• Phthalates: Hidden under “perfume,” these disrupt hormones and harm organs.
• Propylene Glycol (PG) and Butylene Glycol: Anti-freeze ingredients linked to toxicity.
• Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS): Common in foaming products, it damages the immune system and inflames the skin.
• Toluene: Found in nail polishes and hair dyes, it can cause respiratory issues and harm the nervous system.
• Triclosan: A pesticide suspected of causing cancer.

When choosing products, remember: if you wouldn’t put the ingredients in your mouth, don’t put them on your skin. Look for simple, familiar ingredients like olive oil, coconut oil, and cocoa butter.
