There’s no denying that we live in an increasingly toxic world. Nearly everything we come in contact with seems to be contaminated. And there’s an endless number of harmful substances all around us. One of the toxic chemicals that’s been garnering more and more attention recently, are polychlorinated biphenyls – also known as PCB’s.
Our plastic use is a man-made disaster we must deal with. It takes a lot for me to say something as definitive as this, I always aim for balanced views. But not only are our plastics choking our oceans, they are poisoning our children, and destroying our bodies.
Last November, a tide of microorganisms hit the gulf coast of Mexico and spread over 130 miles along Florida’s southwest coast. The Florida toxic red tide is caused by a marine algae called Karenia brevis, which emits brevetoxins harmful to human health.
The air in our homes are often 2 to 5 times more toxic than outdoor air quality. And yet, we often overlook indoor air quality when we consider the factors that influence our health and our wellbeing.
